The Book of Kildare

The Book of Kildare brings the reader on a visual journey through  'Ancient Kildare', 'Brigid of Kildare' and 'Kildare Heritage'.

'Ancient Kildare' features the Celtic Solar Festivals. These celebrations and our treasured ancient sites, lead us to Brigid, The Goddess, The Woman and The Saint.

In 'Brigid of Kildare', her life, miracles and stories are woven around her spiritual traditions & values. Brigid's Sacred Monastery and her centre of learning for men and women is honoured in this, the centrepiece of the Book.

Continuing this unique book in Illumination, Painting and Calligraphy, 'Kildare Heritage' reflects the people of the modern Town and County.

Every page of the book is drawn, painted & calligraphed by the expert hand of author Josephine Hardiman.

The launch of the book coincided with the celebration of Brigid 1500, in 2024.

Both a heritage object & historic reference.
